I just took delivery of my Ronin Edition MPXSD-K in the stunning Dark Army finish, and I honestly can’t stop grinning every time I pick it up. This thing is an absolute masterpiece of engineering and style. If you’re looking for the ultimate compact, integrally suppressed 9mm platform, stop searching — you’ve found it.
From the moment you unbox it, the quality hits you hard. The Dark Army Cerakote is flawless — that deep, aggressive, tactical black with subtle undertones gives it a menacing, professional look that turns heads at the range. It’s not just pretty; the finish feels incredibly durable and premium. Ronin Arms clearly poured their heart into every detail, from the laser engraving to the perfect fit and finish.
Performance-wise, this short-barreled beast is in a league of its own. The 5.75″ ported SD barrel combined with the 8″ Wakizashi titanium suppressor turns standard 115gr and 124gr ammo into whisper-quiet subsonic magic. No need to hunt down expensive 147gr subs — it just works beautifully right out of the box. At the range, it’s legitimately “Hollywood quiet.” The sound suppression is phenomenal, with minimal blowback and zero gas to the face thanks to Ronin’s expertly tuned gas system. Recoil is soft and controllable, making rapid fire feel like a dream. Accuracy is outstanding for a compact setup, and it cycles flawlessly round after round.
The included upgrades elevate it even further: the Elftmann adjustable trigger breaks crisp and clean, the Battle Arms Development ambi safety and Radian Raptor charging handle make it incredibly ergonomic and shooter-friendly from either side. It’s lightweight, balanced perfectly, and shoulders like it was custom-made for you. Long story short—I ordered an MPXSD-K from Ronin Arms back in April 2025 and finally got it in January 2026. Between a government shutdown, Ronin moving to Texas, and slow ATF approvals, it took a while to come together.
Worth it. 100%.
This thing is quiet—like shockingly quiet. It’s also extremely accurate. I zeroed it at 50 yards since it’s set up for home defense, and I was able to put 4 rounds into basically one hole at 25 yards with Blazer 115gr. Yes, I used a rest—but still, that says a lot.
Setup is simple and solid: Unity 2.26 riser, Trijicon red dot, and a Surefire Light. Recoil is almost nothing, barrel barely moves, and the Elftmann trigger is just right.
The Cerakote finish is on another level—really unique and clean. You can tell it’s custom work the second you see it.
Even the guys at the gun shop were impressed. Manager straight up said he hadn’t felt gun envy in a long time… until this showed up.
Ronin Arms is just Scott and his wife, Misty. Quick tip—do exactly what Misty tells you. Don’t overthink it. Don’t hammer her with emails. Just follow her lead and everything runs smooth.
Bottom line: Scott’s work is top tier. If you’re thinking about it, I’d absolutely recommend it.
